Academy Meals

In 2013 the Government introduced the universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) grant, which enables schools to provide free school meals to all pupils in reception, year 1 and year 2. Further to this, the Mayor of London has extended the Free School Meals Scheme to all London Primary aged children.
The Mayor of London Free School Meals Scheme means that all primary aged children are entitled to a Free School Meal.
Free School Meals
If you are in receipt of Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance you may be entitled to apply for Free School Meals for your child. Please complete the Free School Meals application form. This process needs to be completed before your child is due to start attending school.
Please note that we are unable to provide your child with a free school meal until we have received written confirmation from the Local Authority.
Healthy Eating
We all want to help our children stay healthy and happy as they grow up. Here at Larkswood we want to help children lead a healthy lifestyle by offering healthy food choices at lunchtime. You can find out much more about healthy eating at the Children’s Food Trust website.
Packed Lunches
School meals consist of a healthy menu, with lots of fresh vegetables and interesting meals. We would like to see all our children eating healthily. Therefore, our request to parents providing packed lunches is to avoid crisps and chocolate. We believe that children should have at least one portion of fruit or vegetables in their packed lunch each day. We are strictly a nut free school. We appreciate your co-operation.
