Academy Council Members:
Dr Sharon Tate: Sharon is the Chair of the Larkswood Academy Council and Parent Governor. In her role as Parent Governor, Sharon assists the Academy Council and Larkswood Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to better understand the challenges parents face in supporting their child’s academic development. Sharon currently works for a small, but highly ambitious, charitable organisation. The early part of her career was spent at the University of Cambridge conducting research into cancer development. She has developed extensive experience in data analysis, strategy implementation and working creatively to maximise impact on limited resources. Her skills are valuable in her role as Chair in supporting the Academy Council to act as a critical friend to the school and fulfil their role in guiding curriculum implementation, school improvement and growth.
Hannah Owen: Hannah is the Vice Chair of the Academy Council and has been a Trust-appointed Governor since early 2020. Hannah is a specialist in education technology and remote learning. In her current role at Nesta, she leads research, experimentation and funding programmes to improve digital and remote strategy for primary and secondary education in the UK. She is a member of the Department for Education's remote learning steering group and works closely with the department on a number of infrastructure projects. Previously, Hannah worked in participatory arts education in the UK and Canada. In London, her work focused on education provision for migrant and refugee communities in Southwark. In Canada, she delivered creative learning programmes for a local government arts council and taught as an adaptive ski coach, specialising in supporting children with autistic spectrum disorder.
Meghan Woodwards: Meghan joined the Academy Council as a Trust-appointed Governor in September 2021. Meghan is a specialist in financial crime compliance and has worked with a number of companies within the financial sector during her career. In her current role, she is responsible for maintaining the anti-financial crime programme of a large financial services firm. This role includes conducting risk assessments of the firm, advising staff and ensuring the firm's continued adherence to UK financial crime regulations. Meghan's qualifications include a Bsc (Hons) in Physiology and Pharmacology from UCL and a Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering.
Mumtaz Pandor: Mumtaz joined the Academy Council as a Trust-appointed Governor in September 2021. She graduated from King’s College London with a degree in BA (Hons) Education and holds a Primary Post Graduate Certificate in Education with Mathematics, qualifying as a teacher in 2016. She offers a breadth of teaching experience, having taught children across the primary phase from EYFS through to KS1 and KS2 in inner and outer London contexts, having also taught in both the private and maintained sectors. Her roles also include being a teacher mentor, as well as leading other enrichment projects across school. She also serves as a Research Reviewer at the Chartered College of Teaching, the recognised professional body for teachers, and continues to champion for pupils through her school governance work.
Mike Thomas: Mike joined the Academy Council as a Trust-appointed Governor in January 2022. Mike is a School Business Manager in a Waltham Forest maintained secondary school. In this role, is he is responsible for Premises Management, HR, Finance and Health and Safety. He is currently completing the CMDA (Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship).
Baiju Naik: Baiju joined the Academy Council as a Parent Governor in January 2022. He works for John Lewis in an operation role, managing up to 200 staff. In addition, he chairs a staff network and has previous governance experience at director level within the company.
Rachael Holland: Rachael is the Trust Staff Rep on the Academy Council. Prior to her current role as Interim Deputy CEO and Director of Education for Lime Trust, Rachael was a Headteacher with the Trust for 3 years. She has over 25 years’ teaching experience, has taught throughout the primary age range, was a SENCO for a number of years, as well as a Local Authority moderator. She successfully managed and led the academisation process at Lime Academy Abbotsmede and the school has seen improvements in outcomes at all key milestones as a result. Her qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Law, PGCE, SENCO accreditation, NPQH and she is currently studying for the NPQEL qualification.
Nancy Dibley: Nancy is the school Staff Rep on the Academy Council and Deputy Headteacher for the school.
