Admissions

Welcome to Lime Academy Larkswood

At Larkswood, we have places for 800 children between the age of three and eleven. We are a multi-cultural school with over 20 nationalities represented.

Our ethos is clear – we put children first, we always look for ways to be brilliant and are values led, believing in displaying: Respect, Equity, Self-worth, Partnership, Enjoyment, Communication and Trust, in all we do.

We have high expectations for all our pupils and expect them to achieve the best possible outcomes, so they leave the school as confident learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education.

Our curriculum is broad, balanced and motivational, encouraging all pupils to become independent thinkers and learners. We place a vital importance on life-long learning, aiming to prepare our pupils for the future workplace and to become global citizens.

Our pupils’ behaviour is exemplary, they are proud of their learning and of their school. Their efforts and successes are constantly celebrated.

“Leaders have high expectations for pupils behaviour”

The school was inspected by OFSTED on 11th and 12th of July 2023 and it deemed that we continue to be a good school. We are very proud of this achievement especially as the lead inspector particularly commented on the fact that;

"Pupils are happy and safe in school. Leaders are ambitious for what pupils can learn and do. Pupils study a broad curriculum. Teachers are subject experts. They explain new concepts clearly. Pupils learn to read extremely well."

Co-Headteachers Nancy Dibley and Ellie Metcalf.

Today, a group of Y5 learners represented us at a Waltham Forest cycling event. The event was to promote cycling as a grener transport option and to promote the love of cycling! The children showed amazing enthusiasm, energy and resilience throughout the day.
They took part in a variety of activities, including an air quality learning session, the Pedal Power Jukebox, waste and recycling challenges, The Hive, Cycle Sprint, and the pedal-powered smoothie station, where they had to pedal to generate electricity to blend their own smoothie. The Pedal Power Jukebox was a particular favourite – if they stopped cycling, the music stopped too!
At the end of the day, we took part in the races. We had several children finish second in their heats, and Liam came first in the winners' race!
The children were absolutely fantastic and made us incredibly proud. They demonstrated excellent knowledge, particularly during the air quality learning session, where they impressed everyone with their science facts and understanding of air pollution.
We are really, really proud of them, and they represented the school brilliantly. Thank you to Ms Ivanova for taking the learners and supporting them so well! #Cycling #GreenTransport #SustainableLiving #LarkswoodLife

Reception learners love exploring the school library. They enjoyed browsing the shelves, listening to a story read aloud and sharing books with their friends. They are learning how to look after the library and how to return the books with their spines showing outwards, place the books in the right areas and use front covers and blurbs to help make their choices! Well done Reception! ... See MoreSee Less

We enjoy starting each week with a whole school assembly. It's great to get together and have a focused discussion as a whole school. This week we looked at OPAL again, we reflected on how the first week had been and thought about the new equipment for this week. Key Stage 1 are having a small world area introduced and Key Stage 2 are looking forward to playing with a sand activity table. #LarkswoodLife #OPAL #WholeSchoolFocus ... See MoreSee Less
