Governance

Following the recent amendments to the Ofsted 2025 Framework and a consultation with both Governors and Trustees, Lime Trust have removed the Academy Councils from the Trust Governance Structure.

The Trust is replacing the Academy councils with:

1. Regular quality assurance by School Improvement and Operations with robust reporting to the Lime Trust Board and its sub committees throughout the academic year.


2. External and internal audits will continue to ensure independent scrutiny.


3. Each school will replace local governors with a parental and community engagement strategy, for voice and involvement, along with strengthening relationships within the wider community.


4. Staff groups will meet regularly with their Senior Leadership Team and the Trust to discuss key topics, share best practice and support continuous improvement.
