Admissions

The deadline for Reception 2024 places was 15th January 2024.

If you haven't already applied for your Reception September 2024 place please contact the school office as soon as possible to support you with a Late application.

Lime Trust is its own ‘Admissions Authority’. However, we engage Waltham Forest – the Local Authority to administer the school’s admission procedures in line with all other State schools present in the Local Authority.

The LA publishes an admissions prospectus each year, which gives information about how parents can apply for a place in the school of their choice. Parents have a right to express a preference for the school of their choice and they should do so on the application form. Expressing a preference does not, in itself, guarantee a place at a Lime Trust school. Application forms can be obtained from Pupil Admissions or from the academy office and should be completed by the date stipulated on the forms. The LA or sometimes the school notifies parents about the school place as soon as all the applications have been considered.

Primary admissions for September 2024 intake:

If your child was born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020, they will be due to start Reception in September 2024. Even if your child currently attends a nursery attached to a school or has a sibling already at the school you must apply for a Reception place. Please see the link to the right of this page for the Waltham Forest website and the link for eAdmissions.

The closing date for the September 2024 intake is 15th January 2024.

Children enter the main school in the academic year that they become five years old. There is one admission date per year in September (i.e. at the start of the school year) Under the system of free choice all parents must return the Primary Admission Request Form (issued to parents of prospective rising five pupils by schools, nurseries and playgroups) by the date specified in the Primary Admissions Brochure. Parents are requested to indicate 3 choices of school in order of preference.

Secondary admissions for September 2024 intake:

If your child is currently in Year 6, they are due to start secondary school in September 2024. You must still apply for a secondary place for your child even if they attend an all-through school or have an older sibling at your preferred school. The closing date is the 31st October 2023. Please use the eAdmissions link on this page to apply.

Nursery:

At Larkswood, we have a Nursery that offers part-time and full-time paid and government funded places for 3-4 year olds. Applications for a Nursery place are administered by the school which holds the waiting list. To be placed on the waiting list, e-mail larkswoodschool@limetrust.org for an application form and our fees. If a place is allocated to our Nursery, this does not mean automatic entry to the primary school and a separate application for this must be made.

For more information, refer to our Nursery Admissions policy which outlines the admissions criteria for government funded and paid places.

In-year Admissions:

Families moving into the area with primary age children who wish to attend a Lime Trust school should contact the academy and a visit will be arranged to view the school and to discuss admission arrangements. They will then be given an in-year Admission Form. Lime Academy Larkswood handle their own in-year admissions. Please email the school direct: larkswoodschool@limetrust.org, call: 0208 4294979 or visit the school office. This information is on the contacts page.
